For today’s class, we had the second presentation project where we focused on the leaders or change makers from different eras. Generally, I liked listening to all the presentations since everyone managed to come up with something different and interesting. What is more, the managers performed exceptionally well introducing each group of people and concluding each presentation. In comparison to the first presentation, it is evident that all the groups managed to improve their skills of public speaking, structure, and creativity. The first group discussed change makers of the 1700s. To my mind, this group succeeded in introducing historical personalities as well as in delivering useful background information concerning the era. What impressed me most was the way they used educational videos in their presentation. I have a feeling that some of the videos had been created by artificial intelligence and may be useful in helping people better understand the historical context. More sp...
Briana Sanchez Group 1     Reflection  I can confidently say this presentation has led me to learn a lot about myself and how to handle myself and my emotions during speech. Going into this assignment I knew public speaking was something that made me nervous, but I did not realize how much pressure could affect the way I presented myself until I was actually speaking in front of the class. Even though my topic was the evolving art of public speaking, I felt as though the experience in itself of me speaking publicly for the first time in a while was a teaching experience. It forced me to step outside my comfort zone and adapt quickly under pressure.  I was very impressed by how well and efficiently my classmates did, especially considering the small time frame we had to prepare. Our group only had around fourty-eight hours to put together slides for our visuals, and then the difficult part, the seven minute speech. In my opinion that was the hardest part o...

On the second day , the class participated in a group presentation project designed to help students become more comfortable with public speaking while also understanding the course material more . It required  the class to split into 4 groups and for us to work together to create a mini PowerPoint presentation based on selected chapters from the textbook. We all had creative control over this presentation, meaning  we could utilize pictures, videos, and other media as long as the primary objective of effectively presenting and teaching the material was met. Which I  can state with confidence that each group did incredibly well.  To start off with the highlights of each group I will be going in order which will be group 1 the one I was assigned to .Our group covered chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5.  Brianna Sanchez  was the first of two speakers in Chapter 1. Her portion of the chapter focused on how public speaking has changed throughout time in response to...

Alejandro Martinez Blog Reflection The presentations from my classmates were honestly more interesting than I expected them to be. At first, I thought sitting through multiple presentations would feel boring and repetitive, but a lot of the groups actually made their topics enjoyable to listen to. Some students were really confident when they spoke, and that made their presentations easier to pay attention to. I liked how different every group was because everyone had their own style of presenting information. Some groups were more serious and focused on facts, while others tried to make the class laugh or interact with the audience. That balance kept the presentations from feeling too long or overwhelming. I also noticed that when students seemed passionate about their topic, it made me more interested in learning about it too. One thing I enjoyed the most was seeing how creative people got with their slides and visuals. A few groups added pictures, videos, and even short c...

The first assignment for Introduction to Public Speaking involved giving a group presentation based on chapters from the book. In my opinion, this assignment was very interesting since it gave me an insight into how various groups delivered a similar type of assignment in various ways. Every group had its own method of organizing the information, using the slide designs, and giving presentations in class. This made the assignment more interesting and gave me different examples of how a presentation can be organized. I learned quite much from listening to all those presentations. It was interesting to see how the groups differed in their approach to delivering that particular kind of assignments. There were groups which concentrated on visual effects, while some groups were impressive because of the way they spoke. All this was despite the fact that all groups were delivering presentations based on the chapters in one textbook. My group presented first. This gave me a chance to ...

Daria Aliotta Professor Sherri Sinkoff Course Name SPI 2608 26 May 2026     Reflection Essay: What I Learned from the Presentations About Great Presentations Presentations are something that many students feel nervous about, and I am one of them too. Before this topic, I thought that a presentation is mostly about standing in front of people and reading information from slides. But after listening to the presentations about the chapters, I understood that a great presentation is much more than that. It is about preparation, confidence, clear organization, body language, voice, and connection with the audience. I really enjoyed the presentations because they helped me understand public speaking in a simple and useful way. The first presentation was about Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5: The important tricks for a great presentation. I enjoyed this topic because it explained that a good presentation should have a strong beginning, a clear message, and good connection...

One presentation that really stood out to me was the one where the speaker used visuals extremely well. The slides were simple but effective, and the images helped explain the points being made instead of distracting from them. That presentation taught me that visuals are important because they help the audience stay focused and understand the topic When I first heard that we were going to spend time watching presentations from other students, I honestly did not think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Usually when people hear the word “presentation,” they think about long slideshows, nervous speakers, and trying not to fall asleep. However, after watching the different presentations from our class, I realized that presentations can actually be interesting and even entertaining when people are passionate about their topics. Some presentations stood out more than others, but overall I enjoyed seeing everyone’s different styles, personalities, and ideas. One thing I noticed right away wa...
